Ways you can help:

We like to keep it simple. If you have a lawnmower, you’re good to go. Keep on the lookout for an elderly neighbor who might need a quick mow and knock on their door (always ask permission first). Or, become a Mow It Forward Hero by filling out our volunteer form and we’ll let you know when there is a need in your area – no obligation of course. Either way, we’d love to hear about your experience! We’ll even post your story to our Hero Board (don’t forget to include photos and/or video).

This is an easy one! Simply use the Make a Donation form on this page to send a donation of any amount – no donation is too small and every little bit helps! Tell us how you want your donation used or leave it up to us. An “as-needed” donation will be used for:

  • Hiring lawn care providers in areas where we don’t have volunteers (if you would like to volunteer in your area, click here)
  • Equipment and maintenance. In addition to the equipment we use every day, we also loan and grant equipment to our most productive volunteers.
  • Advertising directed at landscaping companies. Many are willing to mow an extra yard or two at low-or-no cost if they happen to be in the area.
  • Growth initiatives. We are constantly working to expand our reach and ability to respond quickly to urgent needs.
  • Miscellaneous administrative costs. We have a very small volunteer staff, but we do have every-day expenses similar to a small business.

We can always use yard equipment. Anything in good working order, or even needing minor repairs, can help us equip our volunteers and replace broken equipment. Simply send us a message using our Equipment Donation form. We will arrange for a pickup.

Make a Donation

Donations, contributions and gifts to support Mow It Forward are exempt from federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c)(3). Donors can deduct contributions to Mow It Forward under IRC Section 170 (IRS determination letter).
